Community events

Connect with digital and data specialists and work together to develop quality digital services for the UK public sector.
Our community events aim to connect digital and data professionals across the public sector, as well as those with an interest in all things digital and data. They aim to make it easier to connect with like-minded individuals, join networks, and share resources.
Our next Community event is…

User Research, ask me anything!
Wednesday 17 June 2026 – 2.30pm to 3.30pm BST
Are you working in local or central government? Have you been asked to do user research? Got a burning question you’ve always wanted to ask?
We’ve got a panel of experienced specialists ready to answer your questions during our live event.
Whether you are working in a user research role, you are considering a career in user research, or you are working with a digital team and want to know more, this event is for you.
With experience across local and central government, our panel includes:
Rhea Ebanks-Simpson (Lead User Researcher at UK Export Finance) previously worked at Westminster City Council, and before that at the Government Digital Service. Rhea’s work at Westminster focused on emerging technology/Generative AI, CRMs, housing repairs, adult social care, support for vulnerable residents, planning applications, and more. It also included building a user research community of practice by introducing new tools and techniques.
Nick Lamb (Service Design Lead at Gateshead City Council) is responsible for Service Design at the council, promoting its use to improve services and the delivery of digital services. Part of this role is to design and deliver user research, which we are proactively trying to build our capabilities in across the organisation.
